Share Your Let Me Run Story

The best way to show Let Me Run’s impact is by celebrating the incredible people who make it happen — runners, coaches, parents, teachers, volunteers, and community supporters across the country.

Do you have a Let Me Run story or experience that speaks to the power of the program? We’d love to hear it.

Stories can include (but aren’t limited to):
★ A current or former runner who overcame a challenge, gained confidence, made new friends, achieved a goal, or learned something meaningful through Let Me Run.
★ A coach who grew personally through the experience, learned from their team, or found inspiration in a runner’s progress.
★ A teacher or school leader who saw how Let Me Run positively influenced their school’s culture and student relationships.
★ A volunteer who was moved by the energy of a 5K or team event.
★ A parent or caregiver who watched their child grow in confidence, compassion, or leadership through the program.

By sharing your story, you help us spread the Let Me Run mission and reach more boys who can benefit from the experience. Every story matters — whether it’s big or small, we’d be honored to share it.

quotations
I’ve been in it for 3 seasons now, and I have mainly found my second family with my coaches and my teammates at Ida Rankin Elementary School...My experience as a Let Me Run boy has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

FALL 2024 COACH

quotations
The boys built so much self-confidence. The returning Let Me Run boys set higher goals for themselves and surpassed their goals!

Elizabeth P., WA Coach

quotations
The best part has been seeing the boys grow in their running and the way they motivate themselves. They set goals on the runs of when they will take walk breaks and it's been neat to watch how they have developed their own mantras and strategies naturally throughout the season.

Tyler M., Let Me Run Parent

quotations
My son took a risk by doing something he wasn't 100% comfortable trying. He formed friendships with teammates and was prompted to consider lessons he may not otherwise have had an opportunity to reflect upon.

Let Me Run Parent

quotations
This was the first organized sports activity that my son loved from start to finish. He learned to persevere and challenge himself. I appreciated the coaches brought such a positive approach to each season.

DJ, Runner

quotations
Let Me Run encouraged me to do better in class; to focus and study at home. It taught me that I need to keep encouraging myself to do better.

Rosy B., Coach

quotations
It just makes me feel really good to know that I am helping shape these boys’ lives to help them grow up to be strong confident men who are going to be non-violent, who are going to be themselves and promote respectful behaviors.

Wilson O., Runner

quotations
I’m not always the first guy to cross the finish line, but I still persevere. It’s great to be able to run a 5k and win a medal you know you’ve earned yourself...Let Me Run felt like a safe place where I could talk to coaches and friends about my troubles and they could give me advice on how to get through them.

Max, Alumni

quotations
If I didn’t have running, I honestly don’t know what my life would be like. Probably the biggest Let Me Run lesson that stuck with me is to never give up.

Julian S., Runner

quotations
I was a little nervous. I thought I wasn't fast enough like the other kids. I thought they might not like me because I was in a wheelchair. Once I got started, I was happy and that it was fun.

Tina P., Parent

quotations
Since starting Let Me Run just one year ago, his running has gone from running after school with his teammates at Let Me Run to just returning from the National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships.

Sharon M., Parent

quotations
When Bobby was struggling to survive that first year of life and was suffering from congestive heart failure I was just praying for him to live and to maybe be able to walk and talk, but never would have dreamed that someday he would be running 5k.

Jennifer B., Parent

quotations
Just seeing Liam interested in something that involves exercise and teamwork is huge! Typical of kids with Asperger Syndrome, he has shied away from both until now. I'm so grateful to see him engaged and having fun — and making friends!
